Trumpet Concerto (2010)

A project that began as an exploration of the interplay between the trumpet and the orchestra became an exploration into the variations within the family of trumpets.

The first movement features the flugelhorn, the second the standard B-flat trumpet and the third shows off the features of the piccolo trumpet. Beyond the exploration of the different sounds from these three instruments, it also explores the virtuosity of the soloist, having to command the nuances of each of these instruments within the short space the music.
